MERCED COUNTY, CA – A set of handwritten notes was sent to MCNTV News by retired DA’s office investigator’s assitant, who at the time was investigating complaints of sexual relations between then Deputy DA Larry D. Morse and a female court interpreter. The investigation, which began in March of 2005 was brought to Larry Morse’s superiors who quickly shut down the investigation, according to Sandy Webb.
The original investigation began when authorities learned that a court interpreter may be having a sexual relationship with the DDA, Larry Morse, in exchange for information from the DDA regarding cases that family or friends may have had pending at the time. The investigation stated that two employees of Neil Morse, brother of Merced County DA Larry Morse, were at the Firehouse (now Gateway Gardens) when Monique Santos (married at the time to Cesar Santos) ran into Larry Morse near the bathrooms. Monique then stated that she “went to Larry’s office, pulled his pants down, and blew him on the bench in his office.”
Much of the handwritten notes from Sandy Webb’s interviews are filled with many sexual indiscretions and can be read below. Warning they contain very graphic descriptions of sexual intercourse.
Just how many cases did not receive a fair and impartial hearing we may never know. But if the DA would do this when he had very little power as a DDA, what might he have done with all the power of being the publicly elected DA? MCNTV News viewers may recall in April of 2015 when we first received the information we attempted to ask the DA about the investigation when the DA swung at our reporter, hitting him and knocking him to the ground. A lawsuit regarding the assault has been filed.
