MERCED, CA – On Thursday February 04, 2016, the Merced Police Department’s Gang Violence Suppression Unit (GVSU) developed information that Validated Gang Members had created a Rap music video on the social media site (YouTube). Several gang members from Merced were seen in possession of handguns and assault rifles. GVSU officers conducted an investigation of the video and were able to identify the gang members participating in the video. Subsequently, the suspects were arrested for being validated gang members possessing firearms and gang enhancements.
The investigation of this case resulted in the arrest of 4 juvenile gang members and the arrest of the following adult gang members: Evan Delossantos (22), Nicholas Quezada (20), George Meza (23), and Pedro Renteria (22) for their involvement in this case. During a motor vehicle traffic stop arrest of Pedro Renteria, officers located a loaded 38 caliber revolver underneath his leg. Henry Avina (24) was arrested for a felony warrant.
GVSU officers served a search warrant at a residence located at 3000 block of Queen Circle Drive in regards to this case. During the search, officers located and arrested Angelo Guzman (22), Stephen Gutierrez (32), Valentin Garcia (23) and Adrian Delgado (25). One of the suspects threw a 45 caliber semi-automatic handgun over the fence when officers contacted them in the backyard of the home.
All suspects involved in this case are validated gang members and were arrested and booked at the jail for weapons violations and gang enhancements.
