LOS BANOS, CA – On February 10, 2016 at approximately 10:11 p.m., the Los Banos Police Department responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic collision, with major injuries, at the intersection of Mercy Springs Road (State Route 165) and Willmott Avenue.
When Officers arrived they located a 35-year-old female pedestrian in the roadway, suffering from major injuries to her head and body. Officers began CPR on the female until the Los Banos Fire Department arrived. The female was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital Los Banos, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The driver was contacted on scene and at this point there is no evidence he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the collision. Anyone with information about this traffic accident is asked to contact Officer Todd Pricolo at (209) 827-7070 ext. 254.
