MERCED, CA – Trying to keep food on the table and the bills paid is difficult enough for many Merced County families and all it takes is a sudden hit-and-run accident to turn a family’s life upside down. And if you are unable to get the license plate of the vehicle or information from the driver before they flee, you could be stuck with many out-of-pocket costs that can create a financial serious financial burden.
Last night another innocent driver was hit while driving on 140 at about 6:15 p.m. last night as they were driving towards Stevinson. The suspect vehicle crossed into their lane and swiped the side of their vehicle causing the rear tire to come off. Witnesses pulled over to help the drivers but by the time they got to the suspects car the suspect had already fled the scene. CHP officers were was still looking for the suspect and are asking anyone with information to please call the Merced Area CHP at (209) 356-2956.
No major injuries were reported though the driver of the red vehicle said was having a lot of pain from impact.
