MERCED, CA – New Beginnings For Merced County Animals has taken on these darling puppies this morning. They were found in Merced in an alley behind Vijaiz on Main Street and then taken by a man before anybody could go rescue them.
Shortly after, they were brought to animal control by officers. New Beginnings did not know what was done to them or how they ended up from being with that man to being with the officers, but what they are sure of is that they were abused. Someone purposely hurt these puppies.
They were transferred to the New Beginning’s vet, Valley Animal Hospital, first thing this morning and knew that they had broken bones, bruising, and someone cut one of their prepuces. After further review by the vet, it was determined that they both have a broken back leg that will require pinning. They have parasites and one has a broken jaw along with a cut on his penis. The light brown puppy weights only 7 lbs.- both are very thin. The pinnings will be done on Thursday and Friday of this week. They both need time to heal a little and their eyes are blood-shot from head trauma.
If you recognize these puppies and know who they belonged to, please send us a private message, email at firstname.lastname@example.org or contact your local law enforcement.
If you can donate to their care, please call Valley Animal Hospital at (209) 384-7387 and donate over the phone into the New Beginnings Medical Account. Or go on line to http://www.newbeginningsforanimalsmerced.org to donate on PayPal, or mail a donation to P.O. Box 1045, Winton, CA 95388. They have a road to recovery ahead of them, but they are safe. We will post updates today after our vet sees them with more detail on their injuries.
