MERCED, CA – Have you noticed the drive to our beloved Yosemite Lake has fewer trash and debris? That’s because a group from UC Merced students known as Humans United have made it their mission to bring unity through acts of public service. Over t past couple of weekends they have spent their spare time cleaning up the road between the UC and Lake Yosemite and the weekend before that they cleaned up Lake Yosemite.
They also do community clean ups, too and were out today cleaning up behind the Walmart and Lowes area.
According to their website, “The world today is divided by fear of other faiths, customs, cultures and race. As members of the world, we are responsible for our actions and the planet we live on. Humans uphold beliefs across the world that have central themes and that tie to one another, which usually are community service and acts of kindness. Promoting these in a world today is no easy task. Whether or not someone is spiritual, they know a general sense of right and wrong. Taking this sense of morals, students from all backgrounds of faith and life may join to work together to bring understanding and unity to the UC Merced student body by acts of public service.”
Thank you, Humans United!
