LIVINGSTON, CA – Livingston Middle School was placed on lock down and students were sent to the high school Tuesday morning after a bomb threat was left on a recorded message at the school. When staff arrived on Tuesday morning they found the recorded message which threatened to bomb the school.
“The school, of course, takes that as a serious threat,” Livingston PD Sgt. Fong said.
After authorities were alerted the students were then transported to Livingston High School while the school was cleared by Livingston police officers and the Merced PD’s K-9 explosives team and no explosive devices were detected.
In October, Livingston High School had a similar threat which had been left on a voice message the day before and wasn’t checked until the following day by staff. The threats were later traced to a 16-year-old student, who was charged with two felony counts of making a false threat against a school.
