ATWATER, CA – Eleven law enforcement officers from around Merced County were recognized on Wednesday for their work to recover stolen cars.

Atwater PD’s own Levi Crain was among the eleven officers recognized and who received an award and “10851” pin for his efforts in recovering numerous stolen vehicles this past year. 10851 is the California Vehicle Code section for automobile theft. Officer Crain was only hired last year so was in his first year of employment as a full-time peace officer while making such dedicated effort in seeking out, finding and recovering the recognized amount of reported stolen autos to qualify him for the award. His efforts helped save thousands of dollars in insurance claim monies as well as helping the victims get their cars back. Congratulations to Officer Crain as well as the other law enforcement officers around the county who were also recognized.
