MERCED, CA – As parents it is our responsibility to prepare our children for the world that exists beyond their dependence at home. And those lessons, though can be frustrating to teach and to learn at times, can really help make the difference in a child’s life as they become an adult.

For some of us parents it is sometimes easier to just let them turn on the game box, computer, tablet, or smart phone and do their thing quietly and without disruption. And for other parents, like Denise Parga of Merced, it’s not always easy in life especially when you’re a kid, needy and bored. So when her kids Marilynn 12, Freedom 11, Jasiah 5 said they were bored on Saturday mom helped them learn and earn. “Spring break brings bored kids with ‘I want”,” Denise wrote in a message to MCNTV News. “So I told them, “There is a lawn mower. I’ll buy you gas. Earn your money.”

Denise reported the kids worked hard yesterday and, “they learned the value of a dollar, too. Cause they worked for it. I think parents need get back to teaching our kids to earn their way.”

And we couldn’t agree more. Great job Parga Family!
