Council members request staff to draft ordinance…
MERCED, CA – Soon marijuana smokers will be able to purchase their meds without worry of being prosecuted by local law enforcement. The City Council held a special meeting this past Wednesday, 4/20 which is also the day marijuana smokers have designated as a day and time 4:20 p.m. when everyone lights up and smokes together around the US, and have directed city staff to draft a new ordinance for dispensaries and deliveries.
Though no vote was taken, most of the council members seemed to agree on the possibility of the new move toward allowing marijuana medicinal users to obtain their lawful medicine.
The council has yet to agree on the actual number of plants that patients will be allowed to grow at their homes. The new ordinance will come before the council for review in the coming weeks.
The city of Atwater discussed their own marijuana ordinance and put the item off until their April 25th City Council meeting. Currently the City of Atwater does not allow for any indoor or outdoor growing of marijuana plants despite their own Sgt Dick Wisdom growing 100 plants in his own backyard while also stealing his neighbors electricity, which he has blamed on his girlfriend, Sue Wisdom. Sue is now being prosecuted in court on the electricity theft even though Sgt Wisdom set it up, according to a family source.
