MERCED PD ARRESTS TWO MORE FOR POSSESSION OF FIREARMS AND DRUGS

MERCED, CA – On Thursday April 28, 2016, the Merced Police Department’s Gang Violence Suppression Unit (GVSU) developed information that Gang Member Damien Perry (33) had firearms and drugs at his home. The Gang Violence Suppression Unit served a search warrant at Perry’s residence in the 4800 block of W Highway 140 in Merced. Upon serving the search warrant, GVSU officers located Perry inside the residence. GVSU officers searched the home and located a 9mm caliber handgun, ammunition and a baggies of cocaine inside his home. He admitted that the firearm belonged to him. He was later booked at the Merced County jail for felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition and possession of cocaine.

And on Friday April 29, 2016, the Merced Police Department’s Gang Violence Suppression Unit (GVSU) developed information that convicted felon Christopher Reyes had firearms and narcotics at his home. The Gang Violence Suppression Unit served a search warrant at his residence located in the 2300 block of E Childs Ave in the City of Merced. Upon serving the search warrant, GVSU officers located a loaded 357 caliber revolver, ammunition and baggies of cocaine inside his residence. He admitted that the firearm belonged to him. He was later booked at the Merced County jail for felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of cocaine and committing a felony while on bail.
