ATWATER MAN ARRESTED FOR METH AND OUTSTANDING WARRANTS

ATWATER, CA – On 05/03/2016 Officer Walker was working patrol day shift and recognized a bicyclist in the area of Winton Wy./Juniper Ave. as Jose Rojas from several prior contacts with him. Officer Walker knew Rojas to have an outstanding warrant. After it was confirmed that an active misdemeanor warrant for his arrest existed, Officer Walker conducted a stop on Rojas and he was placed in custody. During a search of Rojas’ person incident to arrest Officer Walker located two clear plastic baggies that contained a white substance that was suspected of being methamphetamine. A clear glass pipe that was recognized as being consistent with smoking methamphetamine was also located in a separate pouch attached to his bicycle. Rojas was booked into Merced County Jail for the outstanding warrant as well as fresh charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
