LOS BANOS, CA – On May 11, 2016, the Los Banos Police Department swore in Jeffrey “Lyle” Kelley as the City’s 39th Police Officer during a ceremony at City Hall. Officer Kelley holds an advanced POST law enforcement certificate and has 16-years of law enforcement experience.

The Department anticipates a reduced training program for Officer Kelley because of his prior experience. This means we will have another officer patrolling the streets weeks earlier, compared to a new academy graduate. Kelly was accompanied at the ceremony by city staff and his friends/family members. The Department is proud to see Kelly joining its ranks.

MCNTV NEWS has called the Los Banos Police Department to determine where Officer Kelley worked prior to joining the force and we will update this story with the information.

Is JEFFREY LYLE KELLEY the Stanislaus County Deputy Sheriff who was involved in a domestic violence incident with his wife (he pushed her to the ground) and arrested by Turlock Police for violation of Penal Code 591 (a Felony) when he took away his daughter’s phone while she called 911 for help. Kelley terminated the call while his daughter was speaking to the 911 dispatcher, she managed to tell the dispatcher the suspect was a Deputy Sheriff before the line went dead. For some reason the County District Attorney did not charge Kelley with the Felony even though he admitted to doing it.
Kelley then tried to sue the Turlock PD for violating his civil rights, he lost that case. See the attached link for court records on that case

Maybe LBPD hired a different JEFFREY LYLE KELLEY and it is just a coincidence.
